Prior to coming to Portland, I spent 25 years as Director of Administration for the Department of Tropical Public Health at the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston. This position required a person with the ability to keep track of the details of day-to-day operations while always remaining aware of the "big picture" and assisting in shaping the development of overall policy. Thus, I am a detail-oriented, project-specific person who is adept at fitting the needs of the present into the plans for the future. Since coming to the Portland Plaza, I have been active in its administration. I have chaired the Building Committee, spearheading many capital improvement projects. I have been a member of the Budget, House, and Social Committees. I was active in the task force that hired IPM as our property manager, and gave recommendations on the hiring of our Building Manager. I also participated in the task force that hired PPS as our security force. I believe that this experience has given me a firm knowledge of the workings, needs, and potential problems of the Plaza. If elected to the Board, I would work to continue our policy of transparency in our decision making process, to deal with any problems that may arise in a timely and effective way, and to encourage all homeowners to take an active role in the affairs of the Plaza. Above all, I will continue to work to keep the Plaza the premier place to live in downtown Portland. |
